We live in a time where options are unlimited. We can choose between a lot of choices between the new PlayStation 5 configurations or the new Xbox series X and Xbox series S. A very unpopular choice is building a custom PC to your choice. One might argue that building a brand-new PC is hard work and more expensive than just simply buying a console. But there’s a lot of factors which are affecting your choice. The new PlayStation 5 comes with mind blowing specs such as ray tracing, 16GB RAM, expandable NVMe SSD slots, amazing graphics and game changing controller experience. These specs really do sound tempting to buy the console for only $400 or $500. But street price in Bangladesh almost comes to 1 lac due to import tax and high pricing of these consoles in Bangladesh’s new market.
On the other hand, having a high-end customized PC sounds not so bad after doing some research. It is also the obvious choice on practicality as you can do so much more on the PC then just gaming. You’re interested in editing videos or editing pictures, creating animations, building a website, doing some programming, stream videos. Everything can be done on your pc. It's such a beast of a machine where the sky's the limit. The best thing about having to build a pc is that it increases your knowledge on how computers work and what is needed to improve your already good computer. Building a pc means that you can customize every part of your computer. Let’s say you have 256GB worth of memory. But it’s not enough for downloading a game that you’ve been waiting for. No problem, you can upgrade it to 512GB memory anytime. 8GB RAM not fast enough? Add another 8GB stick without any problem and comfortably work.
While buying new gen gaming consoles, you don’t really have that many options on different specs or different models. Sometimes it’s not in your budget. Building a pc, you can maximize usable capabilities in your budget through comparing your GPU to your processors to your motherboard to anything you want. Let’s be honest, after buying a PS5, it’s not going to be very much practical or used. Download or buy a big game, you play it for a week or two, but then you get bored. You want to play something new. But the CDs are 3,000 taka to 5,000 taka. It's too expensive for one single game. So, you don’t play on your expensive next gen console for a long period of time. It just sits under your TV or desk. Being a ex console gamer and currently having a pc, the experience is unimaginable. Getting big games or getting paid games for free is as easy as clicking a button and downloading it. A lot of PlayStation 5 users are complaining that the console is getting overheated in a small period of time. Well that’s not what you want to expect from your next gen console. You overheat your pc? Upgrade your cooling system. The small flexibilities between the two machines are what makes the difference.
Every 7 years, a new next gen gaming console comes out and makes your already owned console look old news. Having a pc can you last you decades having the proper care and upgrades throughout the years. Players who have played on both pc and console will have no hesitation on choosing the pc over the next gen consoles as having a pc, there are no cons. Everything goes with your choice and price range and practicality. As Bangladesh does not have a very big market competition on the next gen consoles, the prices are very shocking. You want to build a pc? Shops and options are merely unlimited.
So through proper research and understanding on how these machines work to your comfort, it’s a very clear choice that the PC gives an outstanding performance then any other gaming console.
