MOMEDS

-Rageeb Juhair Nur

As we march on this year 8 months in, still amidst a global pandemic, without a doubt our concern towards health and safety has skyrocketed. Living with the fear of contracting a deadly virus, we surely do care about our hygiene and it's safe to say a handful of the country’s population are trying their best to maintain a safe and fit lifestyle. Although, this is not the case for the majority of the population, as poverty is a huge issue here. However it is safe to say, even during this horrifying time, individuals are gathering their courage and resources to help those who are underprivileged. One such group of individuals are MOMEDS.

What is MOMEDS? Well MOMEDS is a youth-led organisation working hard to give the underprivileged population health care benefits. MOMEDS is the brainchild of one Ikmal Momin, and started the journey towards social benefit mid this pandemic. The team has completed every project to perfection, and can be regarded as beneficial to hundreds of individuals. Their aid in terms of supplying medical equipment to hospitals such as the Combined Military Hospital and NGOs such as the Friendship NGO are truly notable work! MOMEDS has supplied equipment such as oxygen cylinders, nasal cannula, powered air purifying respirators and essential medicines to tackle this ongoing pandemic. Aside from physical projects, MOMEDS is always active on their social media accounts, keeping the people updated about the current situation, safety measures, as well as news on their upcoming projects. MOMEDS’ has also gained recognition from the renowned newspaper ‘The Daily Star’ for the work they have done, and the way they are going, recognition on a larger scale is just right around the corner. Do not confuse their motives though, because they are always working for the benefit of the people.

If you are interested in helping this lovely organisation, do not hesitate to contact them via their social media accounts and be sure to follow them on updates to keep you and your loved ones safe.
